Foli Art

The art of Gianluca Foli is a juxtaposition of sparse white space detail of line and gorgeous color. They have a peaceful feel to them.
Modern Community

If you love modern as much as I do you may have noticed how hard it is to find existing modern residential homes, condos or townhouses. But little by little architects and developers are realizing there is a market for modern. Case and point, Indigo Modern, a modern community in Tuscon Arizona. Let's hope this trend continues.

The Birds

These beautiful paperweights are works of art. They are made of nambu cast iron which is a traditional Japanese craft that dates back to the middle of the 17th century. The black top coat is the result of a rust-resistant Japanese lacquer glaze called urushi. (3" tall)

IT'S COMING!

Don't bother to get a new cell phone, mp3 player, video player, lap top or any other type of tech goods till you see this. iPhone combines three products — a mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough Internet communications device with desktop-class email, web browsing, maps, and searching — into one small and lightweight handheld device. I CAN'T WAIT!
Off To Bed

I've been looking at a lot of beds these days and I hit gold at Room & Board. They have a great collection of bed frames in a variety of styles. There are many more to see.

Flynn The Metalsmith

Pat Flynn is not new to the world of craft design but his work has grown over the years to an amazing collection. What I find so interesting is juxtapositions in his design. The rough of iron with the delicate of gold and diamonds, the look of newly found archaeological pieces with the feel of industrial modern. This work is very strong and unique.

Mid-Century Masters

As director of the Textile Division of Herman Miller from 1952 to 1973, Alexander Girard brought a passion for ethnic motifs and extravagantly bright colors to the clean, streamlined aesthetic of mid-century modern design. His patterns and bold colors seem fresh and original in today’s market, and his once iconoclastic aesthetic continues to inspire contemporary designers and consumers. Pictured here are items still being produced as well as original work no longer in production.

The Boy Girl Party Shop at Etsy has some lovely little gems like these. The illustrations are adorable and I especially love the owls.
