A Visit to Moderne Gallery

I had the pleasure of visiting Moderne Gallery in Philadelphia recently. The founder and director of Moderne, Robert Aibel, has gathered together the most impressive and extensive collections of George Nakashima furniture imaginable. He also has wonderful pieces from the Art Deco and American Studio Craft Movement. While the collection on the gallery floor is impressive, if there is something you're looking for that you don't see, a visit to the upper floor is called for. Here is a massive amount of primarily Nakashima work. If you don't see it, eventually he will find it. I strongly encourage anyone living in or visiting Philadelphia to make a stop at Moderne. You won't regret it.
